Meet Cara Hackett
Cara Hackett is a Fall 2017 public relations graduate from Florida A&M University. During her undergraduate studies, she discovered a passion for journalism with a particular focus on state and national politics, data-driven reporting and socioeconomic concerns of underrepresented communities. Her recently discovered writing talents have led her to Harvard University where she studied under Nieman Fellows. As a journalist, she has reported on stories that range from food inequalities impacting minority communities to the horrific stories of rape that are often hidden on college campuses. Cara was named editor-in-chief of FAMU's newspaper, "The Famuan" in May. She has previously held internships with the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Florida Commission on the Status of Women and Congresswoman Gwen Graham. Her most recent accomplishment was being named a HBCU Digital Media Fellow with the Online News Association.
